 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say
unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John
3:3
Being born again is not a philosophical position but an
actual change in the spiritual DNA of a person . It is having the characteristic of God
inhabiting your mind body and soul. This change brings about such a radical
change in one’s behavior that the Bible declares this, “Therefore if any man be
in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new”. 2cor 5:17 This new creature that we become is
God’s gift to us. He loves us so much that he desires to change us from that
old man or woman that was in opposition to His Spirit to a person who actions exhibit
His ways. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no
law.” Gal 5:22-23 The new birth is the
change in our spiritual DNA that makes the difference between a life of
contentment , love, and the fruit of the Spirit being seen in a person’s
life. And a person who comes to church seeing only negativity, being unhappy
and has a life full of discontent. A person who has not been born again is
still a creation of this world. In order to be the people of God He is calling
for we must accept the free unearned gift of the new birth.
